So, the pergola is practically done. All they have left to do is put spacers in between the slats because they are so long, to cover the width of the deck, that they wobble. But, other than that, it's up and shading magnificently. It's gorgeous, we love it! Here is what the got done this past week.
Wednesday: The first half of slats are all in place.

Friday: The second half of the beam is put up, along with 2 other posts.

Here is the shade we get at 5pm, perfect timing for our patio set to be shaded for dinner and entertaining.

Saturday: The last post is put into place, the second half of slats are all put up and nailed in. And four gussets are installed to ensure maximum stability for the strong winds we get here.

I snapped this picture of Gabe on Saturday, yet again, asleep in a weird place.

He wanted to be outside with his dad, but was so tired. So, he grabbed his blanket and curled up on the trampoline with his head covered. We tried to wake him up with Tristan jumping on the tramp, but his limp body just bounced deadly. It gave us all a good chuckle.
Colby and I went to see the new Star Trek movie on Saturday as well. It was awesome, and we aren't even Trekkies. If you haven't seen it, go! It was very entertaining.
P.S. We are having a Pergola christening party on this coming Saturday, arrive between 5-6pm. It's potluck, bring your favorite dish to share and your lawn chairs. Come one, come all who want to check it out, let the kids play and just visit and have a good time. If you don't know how to get here, post your email and I will give you our address.
