4th Picture Tag

Okay, so my cousin Stacie tagged me with this a couple months ago. But...I just barely got caught up on her posts, so I didn't know I had been tagged. I'm such a slacker. So here you go.

This is Colby and I together at Universal Studios, Hollywood the fall after we were married. We were hitting the park with my sister Tyra and her hubby Rob, they were visiting Cali at the time. I looked so washed out, needed more makeup. But Colby is so dependable with the backwards hat. We have this picture framed and sitting on a shelf in our basement stairway. Good times, good times!

This is for you, Tanya.

Sorry, I have been slacking on my posting due to a sick child. Man, that's a lot of laundry! I am so glad the week-long illness has passed. Anyway, I got tagged...again. So here you go, whether you wanted to know or not.

Rules: Always the same... come up with 7 facts about you, things people don't know and share it with the world!

1. I am a little OCD. I hate it when my light switches are not all the same direction in a room that has more than one set. I will go around fixing them before I go to bed, or before we have guests over. Colby messes them up to bug me, and then laughs while he watches me fix them.

2. I am obsessed with being on time or early. It is a quality that my mom drilled into me, but a good one to have. The bad part is that it irritates me when others are late or don't show without letting you know that they can't come. Or when the don't R.S.V.P., and then show up. I am almost always late to church or any other function that Colby and/or my boys attend with me, and it drives me insane.

3. I am an avid movie lover and collector. For those who have been in my family room, you have seen this: That collection is always growing. And it does not include VHS, LDS/Living Scripture movies, and Blu-Rays. Those are all in our basement. My first full-time job was for Blockbuster Video, which helped me to build my collection at 20% off, along with introducing me to many great movies. My other inspiration was my mom, who is a huge collector in this area, and so I love a lot of good old classics as well as musicals. Feel free to stop by and borrow something. Just return it in a timely manner...which leads me to my next peeve. I love to lend things to people, just return it as soon as you are done. Or at least acknowledge to me that you remember you have it, and will return it soon. I have had a couple of instances where people forget and I never see an item again (movie, book, crafting supply) or it comes back a bit ruined (my first wedding album). By the way, this is referencing people who have never read my blog. So don't fret that it is you.

4. My last name is pronounced Cook although it is spelled Koch. It is a German name that I married into. And it is actually pronounced with a lot of phlegm, but Colby's family tries to make it simple. They tell me "Koch" means one who works in the kitchen. I just take their word for it.

5. My name, RaeAnne, is all one word. I was named after my mom's mother and my mom's sister. I used to hate my name, and wanted it shortened to Anne. Then in high school, I insisted people call me by RaeAnne, and not shorten it to Rae. Now, I love how unique the name is. But only a select few are allowed to call me Rae.

6. I have always been allergic to cats, but I have two. I just love them when they are kittens and I will go through the torture of allergies to build a relationship with them. They are very weird cats, and their names totally suit them. Skitterz is huge and thinks he is my significant other. Twitch is tiny, although full grown, and will ignore me completely but always obey Colby. Skitterz is also OCD, a cat after my own heart, if you pet him and have not washed your hands within the last ten minutes, he will sit and bathe himself completely to get all your cooties off.

7. I have had two different kinds of stones. I experienced the birth of kidney stones while 15 years old, and therefore missed my first day of high school. Then I had the "lovely" experience of having gallstones right before I was pregnant with Gabe. Thankfully I had my gall bladder removed right after Gabe's c-section.

I Tag.........whoever reads this.

Questionaire about Colby and I

Okay, so I read this on my cousin's blog, and I thought it was a fun way to get to know Colby and RaeAnne "the couple".
1. How long have we been married? It will be 8 years on August 24.

2. How long did we date? From the moment he turned sixteen; his mom declared on that day that I was robbing the cradle. So, we dated for 2 years before we got engaged on May 28, 2000.

3. How old are we? I turned 28 on January 22, and Colby turned 26 on February 18. I know....a younger man.

4. Where does he work? At home, for a video game company called THQ - Mass Media Branch located in Moorpark, CA. The same company he worked for when we lived in California. They let him work remotely, so that we could own a house. We are so grateful to this wonderful company.

5. Who is taller? He is, but not by too much, just enough to loom it over my head.

6. Who eats more? I usually do. Colby believes in one meal a day to sustain his life. He calls it a necessity that gets in the way.

7. Who said I love you first? I don't know. Possibly me, we both have a hard time expressing those kind of feelings. But we know each others hearts.

8. Who mows the lawn? Colby does. Although there was a time or two while pregnant, that it just was not getting done soon enough for me, so I resorted to do the task.

9. Who sings better? I hope I do, but we both pretty much suck in this area. Though I enjoy singing when not many are around. He usually only sings to tease someone.

10. Who does the laundry? I do. But man! Seven loads takes all day long, and that's not even folding and putting away. That happens the next day, if at all. My poor family.

11. Who does the dishes? I do. Unless I have waited until every dish in the house is dirty and he cannot find anything to eat off of/with. Then he will do a load of two. I have been a lot better with this lately, yeah me!

12. Who pays the bills? I do, he claims this will help me manage my spending better. After almost 8 years, I am still waiting to learn my lesson.

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do. He is a complete night-owl, so most of the time I get the entire bed to myself . Then he comes to bed about 1-2 hours before I get up, so I grudgingly scoot over.

14. Who cooks dinner? I do, if you can call what I do cooking. However, if we are eating candy bars for dinner, Colby has everyone covered.

15. Who is more stubborn? Both equally, this is never a good thing. We have a lot of ties because of this. No one willing to compromise.

16. Whose parents do we see most? Both equally, they live not quite 1 mile apart from each other. Weber High School separates their neighborhoods.

17. Who proposed? He did, but we all knew it was coming. He said one day, "Okay, everyone who wants to see Rae's ring come in the house. Rae stay outside."

18. Who has more siblings? I have 5 siblings, 4 living. He has 1 brother. Wahoo! I win.

19. Who has more friends? Colby has more friends for longevity sake. But I have more in each area we have lived.

20. Who wears the pants? We both do, and that causes problems at times. "The man is the head of the house, but the woman is the neck, and she can turn the head anyway she wants." Name that movie!

I Have Been Tagged!

Okay, so a lot of different people have been tagging me recently with these little questionaires. So, let it be posted, and done with.

First Tag

3 Joys: Braxton, Gabriel, Tristan.

3 Fears: my kids getting kidnapped (terrified of this especially since the most recent little girl down in salt lake area), my husband or one of my boys dying too young, fear of me drowning (I would rather go really fast).

3 Current Obsessions/Collections: movies, scrapbooking/stamping supplies, blogging (it seems to be a really easy way to scrapbook and journal). Sorry to those who are annoyed with how often I post. I just love this though. I also keep up-to-date on all of you, so watch out!

3 Surprising Facts About Me: One - I am really shy when I first meet someone, and is sometimes comes off as snobbish, I promise it's shyness though. This is something I have been trying to tackle from a very young age. Two - I am really bad with names, I need someone reintroduced a couple of times before I can remember it. I really do remember your face though. Three - I love to sing, but I am so very terrible, and I do not like to sing or talk in front of people. A part of my shy streak. It literally makes my stomach really sick.

5 things you may not know about me: I love to watch movies, growing up in my home it was mandatory. And if you have seen my family room, you'll see the results. We own way too many. I love to read when I get the chance, right now my favorite author is Stephenie Meyer. Love the "Twlight" series, the next book is coming out August 2, and the movie is December 12th. "The Host" was different, but good in the end. But I usually love LDS Fiction, and usually romance. You need fiction in life, to escape from reality sometimes, right? I love to camp, although we haven't done hardly any since having kids. But call me crazy, I love smelling like campfire, and staying up late around the fire visiting with friends or family. I am a dog person, although we have 2 cats to my side of the family's dismay. I want to travel all over the world. I want to see wonders of the world, and different cities, cultures and such. But who knows if this will ever happen.

5 things I would do as a billionaire: Pay off our, and all family's debts. Give to a lot of different charities. Travel like crazy. I can't think of anything else...brain cloud. Can you name that movie?

Ladies - you know who you are - we are going in August, mark it on your calendars. Ice cream, although I have been grounded from the good stuff. Mmmmmm......Coldstone Creamery! Costa Vida's sweet pork salad. Are we noticing a trend here with the food? That is why Weight Watchers is so necessary. I love to eat, especially with good friends. And the number one above all else, yes even family, my religion (My Heavenly Father). The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. Without it, there would be no hope for me.
